DAREN News, are articles and information about the Digital Amateur Radio "Emergency" Network of WV, which operates on 145.69 MHz.  Anyone having any information about DAREN, or Amateur Radio in general, and would like to share it with others, may send it to WA8LLM @ PKBGWV on 145.69 MHz, or to my E-Mail: wa8llm@yahoo.com.  A Statewide DAREN NET is operated every Saturday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and lately, before and after those hours.  The DAREN Net Announcement, showing the MAIN NCS, ALTERNATE NCS, NODEs accessible to both, and the previous week's check-ins, are posted by Thursday on most of the Main county DAREN PBBS'.  The DAREN News can also be found on the www.wc8ec.com and www.wc8ec.org websites.

It sure has been a quiet week.  This staying at home because of the Coronavirus must be affecting the radio waves too.  I don't have much to report since all of the activities that our communications group have been involved with, in the past, have either be postponed or cancelled.  I still need to verify that the Challenge at Mountwood Mountain Bike Race is still being going to be held.  The race was postponed from April 5th to June 21st.  I hope this virus is under control by August, so the Parkersburg Homecoming and Parkersburg Half Marathon doesn't get cancelled too.  The Wood County Emergency Communications provides the safety communications for the half marathon, and they operate the BINGO games at the homecoming.  The WV ARRL State Convention is also supposed to be held in August.  This week I did register the Parkersburg/Wood County Hamfest with the ARRL for October 10th.  With most of the other Hamfests being cancelled, it's possible we may be able to hold it, if things slow down, but I'm not going to hold my breath, but maybe I had better to keep from catching the virus.  If you have any activities that are being cancelled or postponed in your area, you might let me know.

There were 35 check-ins to the Statewide DAREN Net this week. I don't know what happened to Morris (Mo) Kittle, AD8T.  He didn't check into the net this week for his 200th check-in.  I hope everything is okay.
