Who is WCEC?
Wood County Emergency Communications Inc. (WCEC) is an all
volunteer Non-Profit organization, created to provide back-up and
overload communications to all Public Safety agencies in Wood
County, West Virginia and the surrounding counties in WV and OH.

- Skywarn operating under the National Weather Service
- Digital Communications statewide via D.A.R.E.N.
- Voice Communications via handheld and mobile radio and in
house wired and wireless telephone systems.

Kenn Harris Recognized for Decades of Service
Meetings are held at 7:00PM on the first Tuesday of each
month at The Lubeck Community Center, 275 Lubeck Road,
Lubeck WV. (unless specified otherwise).
Applicant should arrive 30 minutes before the meeting to
submit their application to the Director for review. Those
wishing to test for an Amateur License or an upgrade should
arrive around 6:00PM.

Applicants will need to authorize a background check for
membership approval and individuals under the age of 18 will
be required to present a signed Parental Authorization form.
Wood County Emergency Communications inc. protects all
information presented to it for membership purposes and does
not share this information with anyone else for any reason
other than a background investigation
Monthly Business Meeting
September 6, 2022
The Business Meeting will start at 7:00 PM. You don't have to be
a member to attend.
W5YI VE testing material will be available at about 5:00 pm
before the meeting.Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Social
Distancing guide lines will apply.

If you are a member of WCEC and wish to become a RACES member
read the requirements
statement then fill out an application
and bring it to the next regular scheduled meeting.
Mobile Communications Unit
We continue to upgrade our Mobile Communications capabilities.
Thanks to the generous donations from local foundations and the
general public we are able to deploy this mobile unit to any
disaster or terror activity to assist local Fire, Police and
emergency personnel. Your continued donations will help us keep it
up to date with the newest technologists.
