WOOD COUNTY ARES BULLETIN NR 20.24 DATE: June 14, 2020
SUBJECT: FIELD DAY, TWO WEEKS AND COUNTING
Field Day is only two weeks away, are you ready? Do you remember any problems that you had last year? You only have about two weeks to get caught up on anything you had trouble with last Field Day, or the last time you had to set up for an emergency.
Field Day is a good time to get prepared for an actual disaster or emergency. It's a good time to learn how set up your radio stations that may be needed when other communications are overloaded or completely out.
Field Day is a time to learn new ways of doing things. In a actual emergency you may need to set up stations, antennas, or operating positions in a way you did it during Field Day. When you start to set up equipment, you can remember back to Field Day and do it the same way.
No two Field Days or actual emergencies are the set up the same way. You just need to learn what to do, and what not to do. Field Day is a time for learning and getting better prepared for an actual disaster or emergency.
