WOOD COUNTY ARES BULLETIN NR 20.21 DATE: May 24, 2020
SUBJECT: SHORT AND SWEET
Have you ever been in a radio conversation with several people, only to have to wait a long time to get a word in? Wouldn't it be nice if the person talking would give his transmission a break once in a while so you can a make short comment? Some people keep their radios keyed up while they are thinking of something to say or looking for some information in a book.
It's best to make your transmissions short, and unkey your radio once in awhile. Don't just unkey radio, and then key right back up, give someone else a chance to jump in. If you're not for sure of what you are thinking about, maybe someone else can jog your memory. While you are making a long winded transmission, someone may need the frequency to make an emergency call.
Make your transmissions short and sweet.
