WOOD COUNTY ARES BULLETIN NR 19.34 DATE: August 25, 2019
SUBJECT: IF AND MAYBE DON'T COUNT
When someone is organizing an event, and you are asked to help, please use yes, no, or I'll think about it. If you are not for sure if you can help, tell the organizer that you don't know, or that you will get back with them. Don't tell them that "IF you can find time", "IF you don't have something else to do", or "IF you still need someone on the day of the event, to get a hold of you".
Using MAYBE is just as bad as IF. The person organizing the event can't wait until the last minute to fill spots that are needed covered. The person organizing the event would like to have at least two people at each location to make sure the location is covered. If you say you can help, but on the day of the event something happens that you must cancel, at least the location may still be covered.
It takes a lot of worries off the organizer when the event gets closer, and happens, and things go well. There will always be a big Thank You.
