WOOD COUNTY ARES BULLETIN NR 19.17 DATE: April 28, 2019
SUBJECT: COMMUNICATIONS PROBLEM
Some people will get a chuckle out of this bulletin. After about every event, of any kind, you will hear there was a Communication Problem, and that can even happen to emergency communication organizations as well. Well, at an event yesterday we were providing operational communications for another organization, and we had a communications problem. The only difference is, that as an emergency communications organization, we had a back- up plan, and stuck to it.
Most organizations will acknowledge they had a communications problem but won't try to do anything about it. When you are planning and participating in some kind of event, you should make, or have a plan, for what you want to do if you have a communications problem. Let everyone know in advance what to do if a problem happens and stick to. At the event yesterday we had a communications problem, but we also had a plan, stuck to, and the event was a success.
