WOOD COUNTY ARES BULLETIN NR 18.32          DATE: August 12, 2018
SUBJECT: STICKY FEET

Do you have any electronic equipment or other devices that have rubber or plastic pads that are used as feet?  How many times have you had the feet of that device set on top of another device and they want to stick together?

For some reason those pads have a chemical reaction with another material, or they have a reaction with the environment around them, and they become soft and sticky.  Whenever you get ready to move it, it doesn't want to let go.

Then when you place the device some where else, it wants to stick there too.  There are some cures to that problem.  You can either replace the pads with new ones, or just remove them completely.

There's another cure for the sticky feet.  Let the sticky feet stick to something.  Cut little squares of paper a little larger than the pads themselves.  Place the little squares of paper on each of the rubber pads so they will be happy sticking to something.

How about that, no more sticky feet.
