WOOD COUNTY ARES BULLETIN NR 18.25          DATE: June 24, 2018
SUBJECT: WELL, DID YOU LEARN ANYTHING?

Field Day is over for another year, and boy the weather was bad. It rained almost the whole week before Field Day and the ground where were located was so soft that several vehicles needed help moving around.

As is always the case, the learning experience was the important part of the 24 hour exercise.  If you didn't learn at least one thing, then you weren't participating in Field Day.  How to improve installing antennas, and running power cords from the emergency generator were just a couple things that helped in make Field Day operations much better.

If you participated in Field Day, right now is the time to figure out what went wrong and start correcting the problem.  Don't wait too long, you are bound to forget what needs and corrected, and make the same mistakes or problems again next year.  You need to correct any mistakes or problems now, you may need to use what you have learned before Field Day next year.

The most important thing is make sure you learn from any problems or mistakes that you had with your Field Day activity, you may need to operate in a similar way in an real emergency or disaster.
