SUBJECT: NO SETUP IS THE SAME
During any event where communications equipment must be set up, it won't be set up the same way every time. If you practice setting up during non-emergency activities, you will learn different ways to set up your equipment during real emergencies or actual disasters.
Don't expect that every set up will be the same. The area you set up at will be different in some way. The more you practice, the more you will be able to set up and get into operation sooner. The basic set up may be the same, but there may be some small differences.
Every time you get a chance to set up for an event, try a different way. Remember the ways that don't work very well, so you don't do them again, but also remember the ones that do. When you have to set up for a real emergency or disaster, you should be able to get into operation sooner.
