WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 16.39          DATE: September 25, 2016
SUBJECT: LACK OF COMMUNICATIONS

Communications isn't just talking on a radio or telephone, it's the interaction between individuals, or groups.  It's important that two or more people can convey information whether it's in person, over a telephone, or over a radio.  As Emergency Communications and Amateur Radio operators it's more important to us since we are sometimes the ones who others rely on to get their information through.

It's just as important to know who may be available when, or if communications are needed.  You don't have to talk for hours on the telephone or radio to let your leaders, or other officials know where you are, and if you're available to help.  Just a short radio contact, telephone call, or text message lets officials know that their communications may be in good hands, or that your relief is on the way.  Just making a short radio transmission will allow others know there is someone available to help in case of an emergency.
