WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 16.37          DATE: September 11, 2016
SUBJECT: 15 YEARS AGO TODAY

It's been 15 years since we were attacked by the bad guys, are we any better prepared for any disaster?  When it comes to art of communications things have advanced a lot.  Some of the equipment that we need has improved, and a new mode of communications has been created.  We still need to train ourselves on how to use all of the many things that has came about in the last 15 years.

We need to be able to set up emergency communication networks, how to send and receive messages, how to overcome problems that happen during power, and other communication outages.  All events that we are involved in should be used as training.  You should be able to learn at least one thing every time you help with an event.  There are several events and classes during the year, and you should get involved in some of them.  You may not be able to participate in every event, or class, but get involved in as many as possible.

When a problem comes up, someone participating in the event should be able to come up with a solution, or an idea to work on. Don't be afraid to throw in your two cents when looking for ideas for a problem.  It may have been suggested before, and didn't work, but it may have never been thought of before.  We will never know the next time that we may be needed, and have a problem, so we need to be trained and prepared.
