SUBJECT: WASTED ELECTRICITY
Have you thought about how much electricity you are wasting? Even though electricity doesn't cost that much for the work it does, it can still add up if you let it. Electricity is measured in Kilowatt/Hours, which means 1000 Watts used in one hour. The cost of one Kilowatt/Hour of electrical power, is only is about 10 cent, that's pretty cheap. You multiply one Kilowatt times 24 hours, and you come up with $2.40 a day, times 30 days, and you come up $72.00 a month. That's not very much when you consider what it's doing for you.
Now take appliances that require 100 Watts of power to operate, when they are on. If ten of those items are on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they are going to cost you about $72.00 a month. If the appliances are necessary, then that's not a bad deal. But, if you have appliances, devices, and items that are operating, and are not being used, then that power is wasted, and you're still paying for it.
Have you thought about lights that are left on, even though you are not using them. You would be surprised how much power you may be wasting by not turning off additional lights when you're not using them. Ten 100 Watt devices, such as lights, televisions, computers, radios, etc., left on 24 hours a day is going to cost you about $72.00 a month. Some devices need to be, and should be left one. But think of the ones that may just be wasting electricity.
