WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 15.43            DATE: October 25, 2015
SUBJECT: THE TITLE IS IMPORTANT

Whether it's an E-Mail, or a Packet message, the Subject Title is important.  The subject title should give an idea of what information is in the message.  If the Subject Title is blank or vague, it may not be read.

There's been several times when E-Mail messages have just been deleted, without being opened, because it came from some unknown person, and the subject title was either blank or had something like "Hi Friend" or "You're a winner", etc.  First of all the message came from an unknown person, so how could they be a friend.  And like most Internet E-Mails that says you're a winner of something, but you first have to pay to play.  You can bet you're going to be out some money.

If you want to have your messages opened and read, place something in the Subject Title that the addressee knows it came from someone who needs information, or has information that you may have, or need.  Subject Titles like: Amateur Radio, Radio Exams, Antennas, Power Supplies, etc. will let you know the message may be important, even though it came from an unknown person.  But, if the Subject Title is blank, there's a good chance the message will just be deleted.
