SUBJECT: IT STARTS AGAIN AFTER IT'S OVER
Field Day ended a week ago, but that doesn't mean it's over. Field Day is just a test of how good, or how bad, your emergency communications setups and operations were. Now that it's over for this year, it's time to start planning for next year. Before next year’s Field Day, a real emergency or disaster could happen, and how good, or bad, you did at Field Day this year, may be the difference on how successful your communications will be at the emergency or disaster.
While Field Day is still fresh on your mind, you should start a list of what went well, and what needs improved. The weather will be a major item on your list. What equipment didn't work like it was supposed to? What equipment did you need that you didn't have? Were you able to over come most of the problems that you ran into? How about things that you could have done better.
Just because Field Day is over for this year, doesn't mean it over forever. It just starts again for the next years Field Day or the next emergency or disaster.
