WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 15.25          DATE: June 21, 2015
SUBJECT: ARE YOU READY FOR FIELD DAY?

Field Day is just around the corner.  Have you thought of everything that you need, or want to do for Field Day?  Do you have a check-off list of equipment that you need?  It's nice to have plenty of advanced notice for Field Day, but real disasters and emergencies won't give you much time.  Field Day is the time to get as much training as possible when the real thing happens. Try to learn everything you can in the time before, during, and after Field Day.  Learn how to erect antennas, run and lay out transmission lines, set up emergency power sources, install radios, and pick which bands are best to operate during different times of the day.  Don't be afraid to ask questions or to make suggestions.  You may have a better way to do something, that has not been thought of before.  Make Field Day a fun time to learn everything you can.  Don't be afraid to get involved, the next time you may be the one who needs to set up the emergency communications for a real disaster or emergency.
