SUBJECT: CAN IT BE DONE?

For many years I've heard of people trying to learn something by listening to the information while they sleep.  I have never seen or read of any results where it has been proven one way or the other.  Some researchers say it works, but others say it doesn't.  I guess the only way to know if it can be done, is to try it yourself.

Since the requirement to learn Morse Code to get an Amateur Radio license has been done away with, more Amateurs are wanting to learn it.  Even though there are a lot of new modes of digital communications, one that is still used a lot is Morse Code.  Can Morse Code be learned while sleeping?  If you learn Morse Code while you're sleeping, you will say it works, but if you don't learn it, then it doesn't.  The only person that will know is the one who tries.

It doesn't take a lot of equipment to try to learn while sleeping.  All that is needed is a way to generate the code, and a way to hear it, and maybe a way to turn it on after you get to sleep.  I think the best way to hear the code would be to use a pillow speaker.  The pillow speaker could be placed in, or under, your regular pillow so that it would be comfortable.  Using a set of headphones would not allow you to get comfortable, or get any sleep.

If you are interested in trying to learn the code while sleeping, the only way to do it is to try it.  As Amateur Radio operators experimenting is one thing that we do.
