WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 14.34           DATE: August 24, 2014
SUBJECT: BRING YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT

When you're asked to help provide communications for some kind of activity, try to have your own equipment with you, and available in case you need it.

There are several reasons to bring your own equipment. The last time you may have used someone else's equipment might have been quite a while ago, and it may not work, you may have to re-learn how to use it, or some of the equipment may be missing. If the equipment is there, and it's programmable, it may have lost its memory, or may have been re-programed, which will cause you to lost time providing the service.  If the equipment has been setting very long, it may be okay at first, but may fail, or quit working while you're using it.

In any case, by having your own equipment with you, you'll know it's condition, how to use it, and there's a better chance of providing the service that you've been asked to provide.
