WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 14.26           DATE: June 29, 2014
SUBJECT: OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR.

Well, Field Day is over for another year.  Did you enjoy staying awake for 24 hours operating a radio, or helping someone else who did?.  Did you learn anything from helping set up, operating, or tearing down all of the radio stations and antennas that would be helpful next year?

Field Day is only a year way, but now is the time to start preparing for it.  Field Day is just a trial run for the time when you will need to set up operating systems to provide the communications needed for a real emergency r disaster.  Field Day is the non-emergency time to learn how to put together the radio equipment and you have time to learn from the mistakes you make, or just learn a better way of putting things together.

If you didn't learn at least one thing from this year's Field Day is because didn't participate.  Participating in Field Day doesn't mean you had to be at the Field Day site.  It means that you helped get things together so that it would go more smooth. Even when you think that you have everything ready, there are a lot of little things that come up when you get ready for Field Day.

Now that Field Day is over for this year, set back and relax. While you are relaxing think of the things that you could have done to make the event ran smoother for everyone involved.  I know that it's a whole year away for Field Day, but the next drill, emergency, or disaster, may happen tomorrow, will you be prepared, or will you make the same mistakes?
