When you're involved with any activity that requires being relieved after working a length of time, it's important that all vital information is passed on to your relief. If it's possible, a log should be kept that records any, and all activity while you are working your shift. If a log is kept up to date, and you forget to pass on to your relief a piece of vital information, then the relief person may find the information that he or she needs to fill in any gaps. Most activities won't require the keeping of a log, so it's important to remember to pass vital information to your relief. If you're working an exercise, or an actual disaster, it's very important to keep a accurate log of all information. You may have to go back and find the information that could help answer questions that may arise after the event is over, or while it is still in operation. In any case always pass on to your relief all vital information before you leave the event.
