WV ARES BULLETIN NR 13.25 DATE: June 23, 2013 SUBJECT: FIELD DAY 2013
Well, Field Day 2013 is a thing of the past. If you participated in the event how did you do? Did you have any problems that you couldn't overcome? Now is the time to sit down with a pencil and paper and write down any problems that you had. Write down both the ones that you were able to overcome and the ones that you didn't. By listing all of the problems you will know what to do next year, so you don't make the same mistakes again.
Field Day is one time of the year that you can make mistakes, and correct them at the same time. You are pretty much at an controlled event where the mistakes that you make won't hurt you as much as a real life, unplanned event. You can spend days, if not weeks planning on what you want to do. Then when a real event such as an emergency or real disaster comes along, you will have better idea of what you need to do.
Don't let another day go by, start making your list, and correcting any problems that you have recognized. Remember the next real emergency or disaster could happen tomorrow.
