SUBJECT: KEEP IN PRACTICE, OR FORGET

There are many things that doesn't get used often enough and you have to go back and re-learn them.  In communications there are a lot of things that we forget how to use because we don't use or practice the enough.

There are many modes of communications that would be helpful if we were to use them, but when we need them, we have forgot how the work.  If we don't remember how to use them, or set up the equipment for them precious time can be lost.  We need to practice setting up equipment and using the many modes of communications as we can.  You don't have to be perfect at them, but at least know how they work.  The more times you use the different modes or set up the equipment, the easier it will be the next time.

A good time to practice setting up equipment and using different modes is coming up soon.  Field Day will be here soon, and that will be a good time to practice.  Try to learn as much as you can during Field Day.  It's the time when there will be plenty of help and time to learn.  It's a good time to ask questions and get answers.  The more you learn, the easier it will be when you need to use it during actual emergency events or disasters.
