SUBJECT: EVENTS USED AS TRAINING
Event such as the one this weekend can be used as training. This event used Simplex Communications instead of trying to use repeaters. It gave us a chance to provide the communications by relaying the information that was needed from person to person. If all repeater were inoperative then using simplex might be the only way the information would be delivered.
When relaying information it may go from one person to another, and it should be the same at the end of the path as it started. If any information is changed or incorrect, then it will be passed on to the next person wrong. To make sure the information gets delivered to the end of the path correct, each person in the path must make sure they receive it correct.
When receiving a message or information, be sure you have it right, even if it means that you read it back to the person who sent it. If the information is delivered wrong to the distant end of the path, then it may not be of any use.
When relaying messages, just be sure the information at the end of a relayed path, that it is the same as it was sent.
