SUBJECT: PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG
A plastic bag has more uses then just putting sandwiches in. If you have small sensitive electronic equipment such as hand held radios, calculators, memory chips, or jump drives, they would best be stored in plastic Ziploc type plastic bags.
You can never tell when you may be exposed to water or moisture that could damage the sensitive equipment. If you are a member of a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) you may have equipment that could get exposed to water during a drill or an actual emergency response. Some of the equipment in your jump bag could be ruined if it gets wet.
Keeping your spare Flashlight Batteries in plastic bags can also protect other equipment in your jump bag if they happen to leak. Batteries will leak over a period of time, even some of the most expense kind.
Don’t forget about your gloves and First Aid supplies. If your jump bag happens to get wet, your supplies won’t be of much account. Keep a hand full of plastic bags in with your rescue equipment to keep everything dry. Also keep the extra plastic bags in a plastic bag to keep them dry.
