WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 11.33              DATE: August 14, 2011
SUBJECT: BE SURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

How many times have you been talking to someone and leave out part of the name of a location?  When you live in an area long enough the people you communicate with will know what, or where, you are talking about.

This isn't a good thing to do when you are trying to report the location of an accident or other incident.  If the person you are reporting to isn't familiar with the location you are talking about, they will use the information that you give them.  This can cause a delay in getting the assistant that you may need.

As an example, if you are talking about something or Route 47, or the Little Kanawha River, don't just say that it's on 47, or the Kanawha River.  By just saying 47, that could be a county road, a state highway or an interstate.  The Kanawha River is located in and through Kanawha County.  The Little Kanawha River is located in and through Wood County.

Its best that you get all of your information as correct at you can before you pass it on to someone who may not know where you are talking about.
