WOOD COUNTY BULLETIN NR 11.24               DATE: June 12, 2011
SUBJECT: WEAR YOUR IDENTIFICATION

Anytime that you're participating in an activity that you need to recognized for the job that you are doing, you should always have your identification displayed so others will know who you are.  If your Identification card has your first name large enough to read at a distance it lets others your name and may refresh their memory as to what you are there for.

Your identification can be more than just an Identifications Card.  If you have a jacket, shirt, or vest, they can also allow others know who you are, or what you job might be. If you don't have your ID card displayed, you should at least have it handy so that you can prove who you are.

Most of the time you will be working with another agency, they may know who you are, and what your job is, but only if you have worked with them before.  Working with other agencies during non-emergencies allows other to get familiar with you.  There will be times when you may not know who you are working with, and they won't know you, so try to keep your identification displayed. (Idea for this bulletin from Rick Sawyer, WV8DOC)
