SUBJECT: TIME ON A CLIPBOARD

When doing activities that require logging numbers or other information, it's handy to have a way to tell what time it is without having to look at your wristwatch, pocket-watch, or cell phone.  For the last couple of years when I've done outdoor activities such as the mountain bike races, I've been using my cell phone as a time piece to log the bike riders as they pass my location.  Each year I think it would be nice to just have a small clock or watch attached to my clipboard so that I can glance at the time as I write any information down.  I've found a couple of items that would do just what I want.  I've found wristwatches that can have their bands removed, and I've found little clocks that were made for mounting onto things such as clipboards.  All you need to do is to put Velcro on the back of the watch or clock and attach it to your clipboard.  I've found both devices at dollar stores where everything is a dollar.  The best device is the clock since it already has the Velcro ready to attach to the clipboard.  The time on these watches or clocks may not be good for weeks on end, but at the beginning of an activity, you can set the device and it should be good for as long as the event lasts.  I've purchased several of the clocks with the intention of attaching them to the stack of clipboards that I have.  Now if I can find a way to remove the battery, or a way to disconnect it from the clock or watch for storage, the battery shouldn't be dead when we need to use them.
