ARES DISTRICT 3 BULLETIN NR 07.05 DATE: February 4, 2007
SUBJECT: WAITING FOR SPRING?

Whether the Groundhog saw his shadow or not, we still have six more weeks till spring get here. Now is the time to start thinking of what activities you are going to get involved with. Even though we've had a mild winter so far, it can still turn bad and cause us problems. Start planning what you would like to accomplish this spring and summer, and put it down on paper. You might want to put up a new antenna, operate Field Day, or help with some of the events which require communications. Spring and summer might be six weeks away, but they will be here before you know it. Now is the time to work on equipment that can be done inside, like making coax jumpers, wiring radios using he Anderson Power Pole connectors, or making copper J-Pole antennas. If you get some of these items done, then you will be ready to head outside when the weather gets better.
